Math Learning Goals:  Fractions

3.3C- explain that the unit fraction 1/b represents the quantity formed by one part of a whole that has been partitioned into b equal parts where b is a non-zero whole number

3.3D- compose and decompose a fraction a/b with a numerator greater than zero and less than or equal to b as a sum of parts 1/b

3.3E- solve problems involving partitioning an object or set of objects among two or more recipients using pictorial representations of fractions with denominators of 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8.

Math Homework:

  • Math homework is sent home on Fridays and is due back the following Thursday.  Homework will be due on Thursday, February 4.
  • Please study your MULTIPLICATION FACTS.  0’s, 1’s, 2’s, 3’s , 5’s, 6’s, 7’s, 8’s, 9’s and  10’s. We will have a Mad Minute on Thursday. Students will have one minute to solve 30 multiplication facts.  This is not for a grade.  We will set goals each week to improve fact fluency.

Science Learning Goals:  Solar System

3.8B – Describe and illustrate the Sun as a star composed of gases that provides light and thermal energy.

3.8C – Construct models that demonstrate the Sun, Earth and moon including orbits and positions.

3.8D – Identify the planets in Earth solar system and their position in relation to the Sun.
