Math Learning Goals:  Problem Solving Mixed Operations 

3.5B(R) – Represent and solve one and two-step multiplication and division problems within 100 using arrays, strip diagrams, and equations

3.5C(S) – Describe a multiplication expression as a comparison such as 3 x 24 represents 3 times as much as 24

3.5D9(S) – Determine the unknown whole number in a multiplication or division equation relating three whole numbers when the known is either a missing factor or product

Math Homework:  No math homework is due this week.  New math homework will be sent home on Friday, January 8th and will be due on Thursday, January 14.

Mad Minute:  There will be no Mad Minute this week.  Please be studying and reviewing all multiplication facts previously taught.  (0’s,1’s,2’s,3’s,4’s, and 6’s)

Science Learning Goals: Observe, Measure, and Record Weather Changes 

3.8A – Observe, measure, record, and compare day-to-day weather changes in different locations at the same time that include air temperature, wind direction, and precipitation;

3.4A – Collect, record, and analyze information using tools, including cameras, computers, hand lenses, metric rulers, Celsius thermometers, wind vanes, rain gauges, pan balances, graduated cylinders, beakers, spring scales, hot plates, meter sticks, magnets, collecting nets, notebooks, and Sun, Earth, and Moon system models; timing devices; and materials to support observation of habitats of organisms such as terrariums and aquariums.
